The spirit of women residents and students of Baandal Valley were revitalized on this Krishna Janmashtmi. A small town fair just at the footsteps of Baandal Valley and Various competition organized by Amar Ujala Foundation bought life to all the residents here. On the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtmi on 29th June, Amar Ujala Foundation team organized a Quiz contest based on the life and events of Shri Krishna in Baandal Valley. Along with the quiz competition a separate painting competition was also held for the students up to class 12th on the same day.
Teams from Sitapur, Ghantu Sera and Sarkhet took part in this event. Sumitra lead the womens team from Sitapur, whereas Mahima and Madhu lead the Ghantu Sera and Sarkhet team respectively. Team Ghantu Sera won the competition whereas Team Sitapur was second and Team Sarkhet was third. Cash prize of Rs 1000, Rs 750 and Rs 500 was awarded to the teams respectively. On the other hand Payal from Ghantu Sera again, won the first prize in the painting competition. Rakhi from Sarkhet and Puja from Sitapur were the first and second runner up. Apart from this 3 other consolation prizes and 1 special prize for a group of senior students who participated in the competition were also given. The objective of this event was to cultivate positive communication between the villagers and motivate their spirits to work in harmony with each other.
